Opus Night #10
Jugtown Pirates and BLVD Park!
Feb 11 2010 - 9:00pm at Starry Plough    [map]

Look out Berkeley, here comes another Free Opus Night with two exciting bands!

Sharing a night with the Jugtown Pirates as a trio, or even with special guests, is always a treat and full of high energy, dancing, and people coming together forgetting about the stresses in their day to day live. Catch these Scurvy Dogs while you can and become part of a modern tradition; a growing revolutionary culture of acoustic, roots, feel good, throw off your shoes and loosen your knees kind of music. Remember, the first letter of Revolution is...   ARRGGHHH!

Blvd Park is a young Sacramento band playing old soul music.  With influences coming heavily from folk, bluegrass, swing and rock, Blvd Park is creating its own unique sound.

Originally a three person group, Blvd Park has expanded to eight members including Brian Ballentine on guitar and lead vocals, The Mean Reds; Elise Suttie and Tekla Waterfield-Austin on back-ups as well as lead vocals, Timmy Conroy on trumpet, melodica, back-up and lead vocals, Jarrett Mason on stand-up bass and back-up vocals,  Guinness Harley on violin, Mick Stevenson on slide guitar, banjo and mandolin, and Beau James Brown on the snare drum.
