Ninth Street Opus is a Berkeley, CA based independent record label, recording facility, and music think-tank dedicated to advancing a next generation of talent through comprehensive artist development.  Founded in 2008, the company’s motto, “Perform - Record - Distribute – Promote,” is as back-to-basics as its artistic vision, business model, and integration of technology are leading-edge.  

With a top-notch internal team and a broad network of strategic partners, Ninth Street Opus offers insight and infrastructure to help its artists navigate the creative process, build an audience, and achieve career success in a new entertainment era.  The company works collaboratively with each artist to devise a custom plan best suited to their individual creative, genre-driven, and demographic needs.

Ninth Street Opus believes that the artists best positioned to reap the rewards of ongoing creative development and tireless efforts are those with a compelling live show, a consistent flow of quality recordings, well-appointed merchandise (on-the-road and online), and intelligent, focused marketing.

Together with artists and management, Ninth Street Opus builds specialized promotion and publicity teams tailored for each project.  These teams work with the company’s in-house promotion staff (including full-time Internet marketers) to create the greatest possible impact.  Ninth Street Opus also provides the network and infrastructure for worldwide distribution of quality music—from physical product (CDs, vinyl) to old-school downloads (iTunes/Amazon) to new school digital (direct-to-fan, pay-what-you-want downloads).
